The Sokoine University of Agriculture Academic Staff Association (SUASA) was established in 1984 with the aim of mobilising members of academic staff to work together to accomplish the mission and vision of the Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) and to ensure that matters related to the general welfare of the academic members of staff at SUA are not compromised in any aspect, and are timely met.
SUASA is a team of highly professional and knowledgeable individuals, who, through their hard work, passion, dedication and perceptiveness, continuously propel the University forward. In that case, I believe that we as academic staff of SUA are charged with a great task of fulfilling our academic responsibilities. This comes with an understanding that the University is a centre where knowledge is produced, searched for, applied and disseminated with an ultimate goal of improving human life.
The commitment of SUASA to contributing to a better tomorrow is a key element driving our actions and ambitions. Having a clear vision of where the University and the Country would like to be is crucial for our success as a nation and important for defining the relevant steps to achieve national and internal goals. SUASA is therefore committed to optimizing the impact that SUA has on the local and international community.
To that effect, SUASA will continue to render its services to its members and the University through advice, professional support, utilizing the relentless feedback and constructive criticism from the members, the University management and the government. Additionally, SUASA is always evolving, and each day it identifies areas of potential service improvement, and bottlenecks are noted and judiciously addressed.
Lastly, the chairperson extends his gratitude and thanks to the members of the association for a continued support through thick and thin, and, thus, he reiterates that SUASA as an association will be as strong as the support it gets from its members.
